As a child his mother was murdered by something supernatural, right in front of his face and his father was wrongfully convicted for it. That is why as a crime scene investigator, he is always looking for cases that deal with supernatural occurrences. Nobody ever believes the description he gives of what happened to his mother, but he’ll be dammed if anyone is going to stop him from finding out what did. After Allen is struck by the lightening and he wakes up after being in a coma for 9 months, he wakes up in S.T.A.R Labs (The lab that caused the explosion) where Dr. Harrison Wells, along with the help of his associates, Cisco and Kate, look to help Barry control his new abilities. Allen would soon discover that he was not the only one who affected by the radiation explosion and he chooses to use his powers for good to help his city.
What makes “The Flash” so great is the family atmosphere. I feel like anyone could watch and love this show. How could you not love Barry’s nerdy charm? Of course everything is going to have its little twist to it, but overall it does a good job of taking on the comic book stories No show represents the comics like this one. The villains, and storylines are absolutely spectacular. The thing that is so different about this show is that it is simply goofier than others. Most superhero shows can be a little dark and I know sometimes that does not sit well with some people. For example Cisco giving nicknames to every bad guy they come across. I know I get a kick out of that. Many critics love where the show is head as TV Guide Magazine says “The CW's The Flash is one of the most enjoyable, agreeable and infectiously exuberant new shows of the fall, a welcome respite from the angst-heavy gloom that burdens so many comics-inspired superhero action shows these days” and Los Angeles calls it “An effervescent and super-engaging addition to television's increasingly grim comic-book wars. While all of these elements help make “The Flash” an amazing show, it is the fun and adventure that you feel when watching that keeps you coming back week after week to see the fastest man alive and what he’s going to do
