Information is free. Privacy is sacred. Americans have a right to know what their government is surveying. Edward Joseph Snowden leaked sensitive information to Wikileaks.org in order to inform the American public what was going on in the war. Is this a good thing? The American public needs to know the REAL facts before they make a decision about the war. Snowden leaked, what is described as, the most "significant thefts of highly classified secrets in U.S. history." The documents he leaked contained information about antiterrorism and counterintelligence. Snowden gave up everything; His house, his job, his girlfriend, his PERSONAL freedom, to inform the Americans on what their government was really up to. The U.S works to defend the nation against foreign attacks, and their spies. There are a few "geeks" who are similar to Snowden who believe that rebelling against the government is noble, because there is "no justice in following in unjust" laws. They believe in taking the information that they want, and sharing it with the public. This particular group of hackers believe that whatever information is out there is allowed to be shares with whoever wants it. After all, if one puts something on the internet, or on a computer in general, that information can be peered into. So, if the government is aware of this, they should understand the repercussions of even using the computers. So there a question that is proposed; Should the Americans know the truth? Or Should we be blinded by the government and paralyzed with our lack thereof?
