The details of the roaring twenties are visible in this movie. First of all the big parties, which are cool with the music and attributes. Second of all our sight in the stock-market and the business life. The-American-Dream which we could see in almost every character. The movie represents the novel, in my eyes they did that well. In the book, the author is specific about Daisy's voice, and in the movie we can also see this. Daisy has a special voice. The movie was set in the twentieth century, but they used contemporary music. All those kind of effects made the movie very

This is the first movie I have seen which was directed by Baz Luhrmann. For the most part, I think he did a rather good job, however the whole typewritten words over a bad CGI sky thing reminded me of a really cheesy gif someone would have on their tumblr page, just saying. As for the music, I believe he uses modern music and dance in a retro setting as a way to capture the way the audience at the time would have felt in that setting. In other words, if he used music that today's audience associates with old-fashion and retro themes, the feeling of being at a wild party would be lost.…

The Great Gatsby and On the Road are both similar. They have a lot of different things in common. The time period seems to be the same in both of them by how things are happening in the world, what is going on, and how people are treated. On the Road is about a couple of friends who constantly travel by hitchhiking most of the time. The Great Gatsby is about a rich man who was in love with a girl and he went to the war which caused them to drift apart. The two seem to be nothing alike, but On the Road and The Great Gatsby interpret the same message, they have similar characters, and the women are treated the same.…

The song “Yesterday” is definitely the best choice for the scene when Gatsby is killed while swimming in his pool. The song has a bleak tone which conveys the tragic moment of his death, as well as the sadness felt by Nick when he hears of what has happened. The song also accurately expressed what Gatsby would say if he could speak after his death. The song states, “ Oh, I believe in yesterday. Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be.There's a shadow hanging over me… I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday”(The Beatles). This is strikingly similar to how Gatsby felt when he was alive. He had once told Nick that he believed that he could repeat the past. Therefore, he would believe in yesterday. It is the song’s gloomy tune and…

Baz Luhrmann resurrected the dying story of “The Great Gatsby” from the 1920’s by modernizing it to appeal to today’s audiences. People almost 100 years ago had greatly varying morals and lives compared to those of today, which Luhrmann realized and took that as a chance to tweak the storyline to grasp the attention of newer viewers. Anyone who has read the novel can instantly tell how different it is from the movie. Nonetheless, Luhrmann’s style and idea to take on the story from a new angle is fascinating and indubitably caught the attention of the nation when it came into theatres.…

Not only does Nick doubt that Gatsby and Daisy know each other, but they were lovers some time before. Hearing that Carraway was close to Daisy, Gatsby made Carraway causally set a date for both him and Daisy at Caraway’s house so that Daisy’s husband, Tom, does not find out. Because Carraway is a people-pleaser, her agrees and sets them up. After Nick tells Daisy to meet at his house, there is a shift in Gatsby’s behavior. He goes from a strong and confident man to a “pale” “little boy,” wearing his wealth on his body. Nick’s comparison of Gatsby to a little boy conveys how Gatsby’s vulnerability is shining through in the situation. Although Gatsby is more than comfortable with the hundreds of people he throws parties for, Daisy is the one person that releases the person Gatsby has built for himself. He is finally a human being just like any other. Since Daisy did not know Gatsby was going to be joining them, she was stunned at how many years it has been since Gatsby and Daisy’s last…

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is told in first person through the eyes of Nick Carraway. The primary story is regarding Jay Gatsby and his devotion to his dream. Other stories, also told through Carraway’s eyes, include Tom’s reconciliation with Daisy, Nick’s own relationship with Jordan, and Nick’s evolving friendship with Gatsby. Nick is only able to tell these stories through his limited omniscience. At times, he is able to narrate scenes despite not being present. Although the story is told in the first person, Nick is able to easily become part of the wallpaper. His major character trait—reserving judgment—allows him to be almost an "invisible" narrator. Ultimately, if the reader were to lose Nick’s point-of-view, there would not be an understanding of the evolution of his character. Nick is the reserved, unbiased character until the end of the book when he suddenly has opinions about everybody.…

On the drive home from a hotel, everyone but Gatsby and Daisy stumble upon a car accident in which Myrtle, Tom’s mistress, had been killed. Tom believes Gatsby had been driving, but Nick learns it was Daisy. Sometime later, Nick finds Gatsby’s body in his pool after being shot to death, presumably by Myrtle's husband. After this, Nick decides to move back home to Minnesota. The night before he leaves, he walks on Gatsby’s beach, saying that like Gatsby, all people must…
