The Great Gatsby is a movie directed by Baz Luhrmann. The movie represents the novel ‘'The Great Gatsby'' written by Scott Fitzgerald. It is Scott's analysis on the American society during the Roaring Twenties. The characters represent the American Dream. The main-characters in this story are Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, and Daisy Buchanan.
When Nick Carraway moves to New-York he buys a house on West Egg, Long Island. His neighbour is the wealthy and mysterious man named Jay Gatsby. As weeks go by, Nick gets an invitation to go with one of Gatsby's huge parties. Gatsby throws huge parties every weekend, but nobody knows anything about him. He is a mystery. At the party, Nick finally meets his host, who he learns is in love with Daisy and has always been. Gatsby requests if Nick can reintroduce him with Daisy. And so it happens. Gatsby and Daisy continue seeing each other. If they want to live together Daisy has to tell her current husband that's she is in love with Gatsby. And at one point she does. Her husband, Tom, denies it. They get into a discussion and after the whole situation got uncomfortable they get home. Daisy rides with Gatsby. While she is driving she hits Myrtle Wilson, Myrtle is death. Gatsby says he was driving the car when Myrtle's husband finds out he kills Gatsby. Neither …show more content…
The details of the roaring twenties are visible in this movie. First of all the big parties, which are cool with the music and attributes. Second of all our sight in the stock-market and the business life. The-American-Dream which we could see in almost every character. The movie represents the novel, in my eyes they did that well. In the book, the author is specific about Daisy's voice, and in the movie we can also see this. Daisy has a special voice. The movie was set in the twentieth century, but they used contemporary music. All those kind of effects made the movie very
