The Hatchet Foreshadowing
Brian, a thirteen year old boy, had to get on a plane to visit his dad. Everything was going great. The pilot had even taught Brian how to steer the plane. Brian was not hating the flight as much as he thought, that is, until the pilot died from a heart attack mid flight. Brian crash-landed into a lake in the middle of the forest with nothing but a hatchet, which was a gift from his mother. He had to learn to survive, to get food, water, and a good shelter, but the main thing he had to focus on was being rescued. The author’s writing style is descriptive, and involves a lot of foreshadowing what happens next.
His foreshadowing immediately told me how the book would end, and I was not surprised when my assumptions were correct. The author
