The Hunger Games Triology
The Hunger Games Triology is a science fiction novel series written by Suzanne Collins. The triology consists of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. All of the three books are best-seller books. The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unspecified future time, in an imaginary country located in North America called Panem which has the wealthy Capitol and twelve poorer districts ruled by it. The books are written in Katniss Everdeen’s voice, a 16-year-old girl who volunteered to be the tribute of District 12 with Peeta Mellark in place of her younger sister to go in for the 74th annual Hunger Games held by the Capitol. The trilogy illustrates the rebellion against the Capitol of Katniss, her friends as well as the 13 districts. The first and second book were adapted into films in 2012 and 2013, starring the Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Both films are huge box office and receive overwhelmingly positive reviews.

    In the morning of the reaping day, Katniss wakes up. Finds her mom, pet cat (Buttercup), and her sister, Prim by her side. After getting dressed, she heads to the forest, where she meets her hunting partner Gale. After fishing and searching for berries, they head back home. On their way back home, Katniss and Gale stops at the Hobs, the black market. At the Hobs, they exchange their fishes with bread and salt. Then they go to the mayors house to sell some of the berries. However, Gale and Madge, the mayor daughter, get into an argument that how rich and wealthy people from each district have less chance to be chosen, because they are not in need of food support. The poor and needy people must fill out an extra name form in the draw to get extra food supply support. When Katniss comes back home, she washes and changes to one of her moms dress to prepare herself for the selection event.…

    There are people in this world who face many different trials and tribulations. Often, these trials help them realize who they are and what life means to them. This is the case with two native girls, April Raintree and Ashtoh-Komi, in 'April Raintree' and 'Where the Spirit Lives' respectively, who struggle against social prejudice.     The first two books are extremely well-written, dramatic novels that grab your attention and don’t let go. The characters are described with such vividity that you see a real person, with real emotions and feelings. Not only the characters, but the whole Hunger Games universe is described with such a realism you can picture yourself in the storyline. The plot, until the third book, has beautiful twists and turns, smaller stories within the story itself, and a great deal of excitement. The Hunger Games trilogy will make you feel the emotions the characters feel. While reading you hurt with Katniss when Rue dies, you feel elated when Peeta and Katniss both survive their first Hunger Games, and you are angry at the injustice of The Capitol. All these wonderful things make up what is called The Hunger Games, and if you overlook the unrestrained, graphic violence and the ending of the last book, then I have nothing but praise for Suzanne Collins’s trilogy. But I cannot. I cannot simply dismiss the excessive violence, the depressing mood of Mockingjay, and I cannot just forget about the worst ending ever…
