The impact of Political, Legal and Social factors on a business

Describe how political, legal and social factors are impacting upon the business activities of the selected organisations and their stakeholders.

Political factors:
‘’Political factors are how and to what degree a government intervenes in the economy.’’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEST_analysis)
Political factors include: * Environmental regulation and protection * Taxation ( corporate: consumer) * International trade regulation * Consumer protection * Employment * Governmental organisations/ attitude * Competition
It may also include some services which are provided by the government.

Thorpe Park can be impacted by political factors as it is a big business and is owned by a well known company the Merlin Entertainments Group.

The environmental law can have an impact on Thorpe park because it is big park and is visited by hundreds visitors everyday. The park needs to make sure that they can keep the park clean and that all the rubbish that is produced is recycled well. As Thorpe Park has many concession businesses, people eat and drink a lot, so the park needs to make sure that there is staff around in the park that can clean it up. Further the Park has to take its noise level also into consideration, because there may be people living in that area as well. The park needs to make sure that they are not troubling anyone with its noise levels. They need to make sure that they are environmentally friendly to get a good status, because environment is serious issue these days.
