Dwight Eisenhower was the chief commander for the Allies. Hitler lead the Nazi’s into war with all of his concentration camps and his unneeded territory bases There is always an enemy, and in this case Germany and their Nazi army is those bad guys. Now the Soviet Union had a place in this war but it was kinda neutral. The British army provided ship-like “floaters” that transported tanks, soldiers, and other types of weaponry. French troops played a huge part in this war by sending troops (by parachutes) into enemy territory and attempting to take out main weaponry and capturing main roads to give the allies the advantage. The Allies would need that extra help because getting beyond Normandy and taking over the beach was hard enough. Many died before even stepping foot on land. Once the allies had taken care of Normandy, Belgium, and Luxemburg, they were caught off guard of how fast they concurred those cities and made a shall we say quick stop. That “quick stop” gave time to Hitler to strengthen his defenses and sharpen things up. That didn’t work so well. The Nazi’s surrendered and the war was soon to be over. The allies soon found themselves trying to beat the Soviet Union to Berlin for a easy capture.
