Bullying that is performed because of another’s sexual orientation is classified as homophobic bullying and bullying on gender identity is transphobic bullying (Being LGBT in School, 2016). The anti-bullying working group takes focus on preventing this bullying and supporting LGBT students. Preventing this bullying helps to create a positive school climate for all (Action Plan on Bullying, 2013). This policy states that LGBT school students are less likely to report being bullied to school staff compared to traveller children or children with disabilities. LGBT students have a higher risk of running in with problems and bullying in the school compared to other students (Action Plan on Bullying, 2013). School uniforms should be considered when supporting LGBT students. All students must follow the uniform policy within the school. Students should be entitled to wear the uniform that suits own gender identity. Although saying this a special arrangement should be available to be discussed with students and parents/guardians like a gender-neutral uniform option (Being LGBT in School, 2016). Physical education and sport (P.E) creates discrimination with LGBT students which prevents students from taking part in class. Schools in Ireland state that students should use changing rooms based on sex identity at birth which is unfair for transgender students. Students should get involved in the sports that interest someone rather than based on identity (Being LGBT in School. 2016). Toilets are another issue in schools that must be identified. This policy suggests that schools should rename toilets to a unisex bathroom rather than male or female. A larger school experimented with this and provided a neutral toilet in one section of the school so no student felt singled out for having to use certain assigned toilets which was a positive impact (Being LGBT in School,
