Today healthcare is more complex and diverse, and it is extremely important among the healthcare professionals to have good communication skills to deliver patient care services, which involves in sharing patients’ information with practitioners, medical administrative assistant, and emergency room technician. The medical care relies on effective communication between the patient, staff members, family members, and caregivers for proper treatment of the patients’. Effective communication should always be accurate, timely, unambiguous, and to be understood by the recipient to reduce the errors as well as the results in the safety of the patient. However, effective communication is guided by the basic elements of effective communication in healthcare.
The basic elements of effective communication are the appropriate framing of the message, appropriate response from the receiver, and the use of a suitable communication channel. I believe the basic rule of health communication is centered on understanding the objective as well as the patient goals, which is to provide effective treatment plans as well as promoting better patient’s outcomes. The communication incorporates the basic elements of communication in health care, which is extremely important for health care professional, and the patients’, which plays a vital role in the communication process, and it is important that the sender receives a clear and concise communication from the message, so he or she can properly address the situation, which will produce a positive feedback for the consumers’ health care concerns.
