This will also help with the service users as they will feel wanted within that environment not only would they feel wanted they would also be satisfied within the environment as they would feel that they are being understood and cared for in a correct manor.
Effective communication must also be used correctly not only towards patients or service users but also to colleagues, different departments and different agencies that is connected within the health and social care …show more content…
environment.
For example when a patient is waiting to be seen by a doctor when a patient enters the room the doctor greats the patient with the correct body posture and correct manor by introducing their self and having eye contact. They will also listen to the patient by having good reflective listening skills this will make the patient feel respected by the doctor.
In “Argyle’s communication cycle ““message sent” and “message understood” refers to the example I have given above as it shows it is relating to the communication cycle.
Another example of good effective communication is if an emergency has occurred in hospital the colleagues will get together and discuss amongst themselves to resolve the situation. They will also not argue with one another and take it in turns to have a say for example they may each put their opinions across by taking it in turns and listening to one another.
Another example is when working in a hospital within the surgery room the colleagues will have a main person in charge but will cooperate with one another working on a patient this shows that they have god communication skills with one another.
“Tuckman’s stages of group interaction” has said there are four stages of group communication, the final communication stage is when the group are finely able to communicate effectively which refers to the examples I have given within group communication with colleagues. This then shows that the examples I have given is the correct way of communicating effectively in a group as said in "Tuckman’s group
interaction”
Different departments must always have good communication skills as it is very important within the health and social care environment. They must not be aggressive in any way, have good interacting skills i.e. use appropriate language with no swearing and have the right behaviour towards other departments or service users.
For example when departments communicate effectively in a positive way with one another it lessens the chance of mistakes being made.
Another example is when patients are waiting for results the hospital has different departments therefore doctors must reach out to other departments to make sure they all have the correct information and when cooperating well it helps the job being handled correctly.
Effective communication helps the doctors do their jobs efficiently and effectively.
My examples above relate to Tuckman’s theory of group interaction as it has pointed out that the final stage of the group communication is working well with one another.
