While someone is communicating he or she should have proper posture and keep a good level of eye contact as the lack of these factors could send negative non-verbal messages. The same occurs when one who receives the message replies forming a conversation.
The cycle commences with the formation of an idea in the mind of the individual who is about to speak. After this, the thought is converted into language or into some other form of communication such as text. There are multiple forms of media into which thoughts can be converted to. After this the message is conveyed, as one begins to speak or use any other form of communication. The message conveyed would now be interpreted by the other member of the conversation and the message is decoded (this may occur wrongly as bad assumptions can be made). After this, the message conveyed will be properly interpreted and understood and the cycle is then repeated until the conversation ends. In the scenario there were some difficulties in completing this cycle as the student was not comfortable enough to actually transmit his actual thoughts in words. The supervisor also wasn’t attentive enough to interpret the student’s actual expressions and when he noticed something wrong he did not insist into finding out the problem. During my placement I encountered several certain difficulties to complete the cycle of communication with other individuals. During an occasion one of the workers was a foreigner and her spoken English was slightly difficult to comprehend. Another time was due to the fact that the workers had the tendency of using jargon in their language which caused me not to immediately understand what the workers were trying to tell me. In another case which took place during the first day of my placement, I felt slightly uncomfortable and shy which lead me not to talk clearly with the end result that the workers did not understand me
