The Importance Of Ending Homelessness
"There is a lot that happens around the world we cannot control. We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts, and we cannot prevent all conflict, but when we know where the hungry, the homeless and the sick exist, then we can help" (Schakowsky). Homelessness is something that I feel should not exist. I am so passionate about feeding the homeless and finding ways to help, because every time I see a person on the street I want them to see God through me. In order to make a community better, individuals need to understand not to judge the homeless , realize how to end homelessness, and know the needs that exist, so that a chain reaction of help can begin that will ensure that homelessness will no longer exist. “Donations, regardless of the size, demonstrate your interest in ending, not just managing, the crisis of homelessness in our country” (National Alliance to End Homelessness). Simply giving a small donation can make a big difference. So give a little for a lot. “Dedicate your time and ideas to programs within your community and neighboring areas”( National Alliance to End Homelessness). Get involved in a foundation that feeds the home and/or one that help find the homeless find homes. “Organizing a food drive in your office, school, faith community or other location is a wonderful way to help people in need on special holidays and throughout the year”(National Alliance to End Homelessness).
