Teamwork is the key to success in JROTC. It involves the cooperative effort of a group of people working together to achieve a goal. In today’s society, it is a vital skill utilized in any career. As a future neurosurgeon, I will work collectively among fellow surgeons and hospital board members in order to ensure each patient receives proper health care. Examples of this preparation are highlighted in the 11 Leadership Principles. Principle 1 states, “Know yourself and seek self-improvement.” I need to gauge my weaknesses academically in order to improve myself as a student. As a college student, I must also manage my time effectively in order to meet every suspense. I must know when to act and make sound decisions to guarantee my success in collegiate life. This is noted in Principle 4. As a college student, I must decide to study for an important exam or attend a dinner with friends. If I spend all my available time studying and I leave the dinner early, both these choices are possible. JROTC has shown me the wonders of proper time
