The Importance of Reading and Writing Did you know that reading and writing are very important? About 15% of the world's population cannot read or write. Without the knowledge of reading and writing, one cannot get a job or employment in a world like this. Every day we read or write something. Reading develops a person's mind and improves his grammar and spelling. Writing is also important because it is a form of communication. Lacking good reading and writing skills gives people the impression that you are uneducated. If you think about it, you will be amazed at how important reading and writing are. It is true that reading and writing are an important part of our lives and we cannot survive without it. Writing is important because while writing, our handwriting and speed improve. Also, writing helps one express himself/herself. Some people are better at expressing themselves in writing than in any other way. Reading is also important because while reading, our vocabulary, grammar, and spelling improve. A person who reads has better skills at comprehending, analyzing, understanding, responding, and last but not least, learning from what he or she reads. So these are some of the reasons why reading and writing are important. I personally like reading and it is important because I can learn a lot. For example, it can improve my grammar, spelling, vocabulary, etc. Reading stimulates the mind and helps us grow mentally. Writing is important to us in everyday life because we do things like send a Vaskovetskiy 2 letter or e-mail. Or if I am applying for a job, I have to read and fill out the application, and use my reading and writing skills to get hired. Therefore, reading and writing are very important in my life. It is important to improve your reading and writing skills. If we stay on the same level, we will look foolish and uneducated. One way to improve your reading and writing skills is to practice a lot.
