RTI is an approach that helps identify and support students with behavior and learning needs. This approach tackles problems early on by providing high quality instructions and intervention. First the teacher assess the students, then when it’s clear that the student is struggling more than what is considered “normal”, the teacher will start the process to implement RTI.

It’s important for the ARD committee to have so many members, because they all need to fill a specific role. The members all come together to figure out what is the best way to help the
student.
3. What are the basic (most important) items we would see on the Individualized Education Program (IEP)? (40-60 words)
The most important items that should be included on an IEP program would be the student’s annual educational goals and how they are going to be assessed. Another thing that should be included are the modifications and accommodations the school is going to implement to help the student’s yearly progress, along with the accommodations/modifications when taking a test and the student’s present level performance.
4. Why and how would someone change the IEP? (30-50 words)
IEPs are usually reviewed and updated on a yearly basis, but they can be changed at any time as long as it meets a student’s needs. The parents would need to request a meeting and gather the committee to discuss how they can modify the IEP program.
