For example, when i first started reading i could see why it was considered to be a supernatural short story, the mood that is put into the story as soon as Sergeant- Major Morris starts talking about the paw and how the wishes work , also how men before him would die or go crazy because of the paw gave me goosebumps. The first person point of view can affect someone tremendously because it can make someone feel as though the novel is about them or that they are the ones that's going threw whatever situation the main character is in. for example when Sergeant-Major Morris told Mr. White how he has to had the paw for the wish to come true , i could imagine him with the paw in his hand and turning it the way that Major Morris said. Although they got what they asked for everything comes at a price, in the beginning of the of the novel when in their livingroom Sergeant-Major Morris said “ i threw it in the fire. If you keep it , don't blame me for what happens. Pitch it to the fire again, like a sensible man”. Once he said this the wise thing to do would be to throw it back into the fire. Meaning when the sergeant morris spoke i felt as though it was me that was in Mr.white's shoes.
