The Important Role Of Patriarchal Governments In The Roman Republic
Pastoral, or pastoralism, is the practice of herding, growing and raising of animals. It includes taking care of animals, such as sheep, goats, camels, llamas, reindeer, and cattle. These types of animals are called ungulates. Pastoralism began in between 8500 and 7500 BC. It is also called animal husbandry. Animal husbandry was first started to control prey, but later became a way of life. Now pastoralists travel from place to place, finding food for their livestock. They travel around regions, and change locations at appropriate times. Pastoral lifestyles are very common in Asia and the Middle East.

Republics are run by Presidents or Prime Ministers, rather than by a king or queen. In a republic, people vote for officials to represent them, who are called elected representatives. Leaders are are chosen by voting, instead of inheriting the position. The first republic, was the Roman Republic, in the fifth century BC. It was slightly different from today’s republics, and was more of a democracy than a republic. Republic governments are the most common form of government around the world. Some republics are the United States, South Africa, India, Greece, Ireland, Afghanistan, and Argentina. Almost every citizen in the city of Athens, had at least one slave. Later ancient Rome started the slavery system as well. Ancient Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, and Incas, all had slaves, as they were extremely popular in those places. Slavery was also used in Africa and America. In Africa, tribes would fight and the losing tribe would be either killed or enslaved. Later, Americans came to Africa and took Africans to work for them in America.
