The Influence Of The Gutenberg Printing Press
One invention that changed education and the way of life for everyone, was the Gutenberg Printing Press. Johannes Gutenberg invented the “movable type” printing press. Without the Gutenberg printing press, it is very possible that there would have been no Renaissance or Reformation. Without the Gutenberg printing press, the Bible would have never been open for nobles or anyone who was not a Priest to read. The religious conflicts and questioning that happened in the Reformation would never have happened.

Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenburg was born in 1395 in Mainz, Germany. Where he was born into a modest merchant family. His father Freile Zum Gensfleisch, and his mother, Else Wirick Zum Gutenberg. Johannes Gutenberg also had two brothers growing up, him being the youngest. Before the printing press, Johannes worked as a goldsmith in Mainz. When a Craft Smith's revolt happened against the noble class in 1428, Johannes and his family were moved to now known as Strasbourg, France. In Strassburg, Johannes printing experiments began. Johannes was already familiar with book making. He then created a small metal type and later on printed the first copy of the Bible nobles could read.
