2. The program requires monthly fees of $19, plus the cost of food. It is required to purchase three meals and one snack per day seven days per week of Jenny foods to guarantee success. Consultations and meetings are a part of the membership, but are not mandatory.
3. The Jenny Craig program emphasizes safety and weight maintenance. The program includes structured, nutritionally-balanced menus, physical activity and behavioral counseling. The plan allows for three prepared meals and one snack per day, that are nutritionally-balanced and reduced-calorie, along with added vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats, unsaturated fats, and nonfat milk products. One case history I learned about was Nichole’s story. She found comfort in food when times were difficult. One day she was looking at pictures and realized she had let herself go and was ready to make a change. She joined Jenny Craig and lost 45 pounds. She said that Jenny Craig’s consultants truly motivated her, and she liked how personal the program is designed and executed. The second case history I read was about Sloane’s experience. She was unable to play with her children, so she decided to join Jenny Craig. She lost 60 pounds. She was motivated by her son, who ran with her everyday. She was also supported by her consultant. She truly believes that having a one-on-one relationship with her consultant and the structure of the food program contributed to her success. She is now more happy, has more energy, and is able to enjoy playing with her children. The two case histories I investigated sound authentic, they truly capture everyday challenges. It seems that their weight loss was achieved sensibly. Nichole stated that she not once deprived or starved herself. Sloane stated that the Jenny's Cuisine was delicious and the structured plan taught her what a healthy menu and portion looks like. The testimonies do not present many facts, but rather personal stories, challenges, and opinions. However, I still believe this program would be effective and safe. I would consider the membership in this organization, because it offers a dedicated support system and structure through the meal plans to help achieve personal
goals.
