The Library Of Souls By Ransom Riggs Summary
I read “The Library of Souls”, written by Ransom Riggs. Ransom RIggs, the author of this novel, grew up on a farm on the Eastern shore of Maryland and also in a little house by the beach in Englewood, Florida. He was lonely, since he had no brothers or sisters to play with. He liked telling stories from when he was young, sometimes with pictures, sometimes with words, and that was how he spent his free time for recreation. When he got a little older, he got a camera for his birthday and started getting interested in photography. Riggs studied literature in Kenyon College and studied film at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and got a degree in English.
Ransom Riggs collected many vernacular photographs and approached his

First of all, it was incredibly predictable. Many times, things were resolved through something very convenient happening totally out of nowhere and by surprise. For example, the main character Jacob, many times, almost died but was miraculously saved because some person or some thing appeared out of nowhere. Jacob gets a headache, he senses the hollows, the hollows appear and Jacob gets rid of them. The same pattern repeats its self over and over which gets the reader bored.
However, despite the lack of suspense, overall the book was extremely interesting. Riggs’s creepy photographs, spread throughout the book were enjoyable and added mystery into the story. My favorite part was how Jacob Portman, the main character, grow and change throughout the 3 books. At first he was incredibly unskilled, weak and confused. He didn’t know anything about his powers and what he was capable of and was extremely passive. However, he was encouraged by his friends and companions and he gradually became more brave and confident. I also liked how the third book started, since the second book ended with a cliffhanger, with Jacob and Emma’s lives at

My initial response once I read the first third of the book was that I am really going to enjoy it. I thought that because it has a very strong plot which makes it very interesting for me to read. I like how the author gets right to the point, but still makes you think about what is going on in the novel. Another thing that made me think it will be a good book is that it is very realistic so I can relate to what’s happening and really understand the things going on.…

Just in general, I suppose that I do find the first book of the novel quite interesting. I enjoy the footnotes that go along with the story, as they add a great amount of depth and character to the story as a whole. Along with that, the footnotes also provide a good insight to the culture, traditions, mythology and history behind the story line.…

In the second chapter, the mood is very depressing and tense. Jacob says he is plagued by horrible nightmares of the monster-like thing and of his grandpa’s last words. He is very honest with the readers of this book about how he feels, but not with his psychiatrist, Dr. Golan. He also blames himself for his grandpa’s death. I really love how they put small pictures in the book to kind of illustrate it. Still loving this book.…

It had humor, real life events, sadness, and suspense. I would most definitely recommend this novel to someone because although it’s very long, you won’t want to stop reading it. This book will make you wonder, cry, even laugh. It’s a book that I think had great meaning and was put together very well. In my opinion, there is no flaws about this book except how long it is.…

There is calm moment in the beginning it just hops right in the story. In fact the roller coaster analogy is great to describe how the book is written. There were times where my jaw hit the floor and there were also times where my stomach didn’t feel good by all the fascinating things that happened in the book. There are all kinds of twists and turns. And then when you just have figured the book out another turn pops right in the book. There were some shocking details in the book. Benson`s reactions were great enough to keep the reader on his side of view. Sometimes he was a little annoying but in the situation it was…

Ender go’s to military school and he gets bullied from the start and makes a name for himself right at the beginning by braking some kids arm, so after that every one starts to put together gangs and start having gang wars in the battle rooms and in the cafeteria. There where lots of twist in this story like ender would always when the war games and he was the commander of army’s and he was just smarter than the older boys. It was pretty easy to fallow the plot if I didn’t zone out but if I did zone out than it was pretty easy to know what was happening because the story would repeat its self. The language in the book was really easy to understand there was a lot of a made up words but it was all right. The mane thing emerges in the book when it comes to the battle games and ender is better then everyone else.…

First of all, his book includes various examples of symbolism, poems, biblical, weather events, quest, political, and many more examples that change the meaning of the story. Without me reading this book I would have never stopped to think what’s the quest of the story, what does this event mean, is there a biblical reference and many more questions. This book has now taught me to look out for certain things to help me effectively read a book better than I did before reading How to Read Literature like a Literature. After reading this book and moving on to another novel allowed me to see the double meaning of the text. In where as if I hadn’t read the book by Thomas C. Foster I wouldn’t have stopped to think and take much consideration to the story. Additionally, this book made it clear to me that there is only one story and one story only. How could that be? Sounds unbelievable right but it right. The same story is repeated but with a new setting, different character names, different conflicts but still the same meaning and maybe the same ending. If it weren’t for this great novel I would have missed out on all the interesting parts of the story and there meaning. All in all, this book allowed me to gain so much knowledge on how to effectively read a…
