“Ok May are you ready to go to the Lincoln-Douglas debate,” I asked.
“Almost just let me get my notebook, I reckon we better hurry up or we’ll be late.” she responded.
After May got her notebook I had to call my mom.
“Hi mom we are on our way to the Lincoln-Douglas debate,” I said “If you want you can come with us.
“Ok, just let me grab your dad, Ash, John Jones, and Cam Newtan,” She replied.
We all are meeting up in Ottawa, Illinois, we have to drive a few miles to get there. May and I listen to music all the way
“Here we are honey, we made it yo Ottawa, Illinois!” I exclaimed.
“I can’t wait!” May excitedly blurted out.
We saw my mom, Ash, Cam Newtan and John Jones five minutes after we arrived. There
were thousands of people of all races, ages, and genders. Negroes, whites, women, men and children.
“Sit down ladies and gentlemen, I advise you to calm down,” said an unfamiliar voice.
Everyone took a seat. I looked around me and I saw May writing down all the details she can.
