Visual Identity I was first introduced to this logo while attending school. The logo belongs to the Apple Computer Company. Although this was not the original logo designed. The original logo was of a image of Sir Isaac Newton leaning against an apple tree with a portion of a William Wordsworth poem running around the border, designed by Ron Wayne in 1976. One year later the design was changed to a visual graphic of an apple with a bite mark. “According to Janoff, the “bite” in the apple logo was originally implemented so that people would know that it represented an apple not a tomato. It also lent itself to a nerdy play on words (bite/byte), a fitting reference for a tech company” (Apple 2009). The apple was rainbow colored. This was believed to make the company more “humanize”. The color was not in any particular order, except for the green at the top were the leaf was. As time pasts the apple logo changed to the monochrome logo that represents the company today. The graphic design being the shape of an apple remaining the same since 1977 represents the stability and core of the company, by not only standing behind the product but the logo, also. The basic design element was the color of the apple. The rainbow colors were eye catching. In the later years Jobs decided to use the logo on the products, realizing that the rainbow logo may look silly or childish. He decided to change the color to a monochrome design, giving a more flexible logo when it comes to branding the products. Although, there is no talk of changing the graphic design, of the Apple Company any time soon. The basic elements may change, example the color or size, but the shape will always remain. For the apple with a bite mark is universally recognizable.

Apple, Inc. has revolutionized personal computing since its founding in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne and Steve Wozniak. For more than 30 years, Apple, Inc. has introduced groundbreaking products and accessories that truly defy the technological barriers. It has now become one of the world’s most famous computer brands and has introduced innovative products such as iPods, Macintosh, Mac laptops and QuickTime. The logo for Apple, Inc. F.K.A as Apple Computers, Inc. is possibly the most recognizable logo in history. For the past three decades, Apple, Inc. has been the pioneer in the computing industry with its landmark products. In the late 1970’s, the founders Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne and Steve Wozniak introduced Apple Computers, Inc. to the American public. I was only a year old when the company was established and was familiar with their products growing up as a child. I do not have a distinct moment in my childhood that stands out relating to the Apple Computer however by the time I could understand the concept of computers Apple was already a household name. From the 1970’s to today, the company has experienced many transitions. From the dismissal of its co-founder Steve Jobs in 1985 to the updating of the company logo in 1997 to the changing of the company name in 2007 however even with the changes Apple has still remain a powerhouse in the industry.…

When customers see the Apple logo they will immediately associate it with the product or service. In 2007 Apple put out loads of adverts to promote their products. It’s important that Apple maintain consistency with their brand. Changing their logo will destroy all of the work that they’ve put in to developing the brand. I went on the Apple website and it said their branding is about lifestyle; imagination; liberty regained; innovation; passion; hopes, dreams and aspirations; and power-to-the-people through…

Apple Inc. is one of the most successful companies in the United States and in the world. Apple Inc. is a multinational company that specializes in the manufacturing of electronic equipment like smartphones, software and computers. The company is well known to everyone for products like iPhone, Macintosh, iPad and iPod. Apple came into existence as the joint effort of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was the mind behind the technology while Jobs was mind behind the marketing strategies. Apple Inc. was founded by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs, and Ron Wayne on April 1, 1976 then was incorporated in 1977. The company was first established as Apple Computer Inc. Later on, the company founders decided to remove the world computer from its original name in order to show a future growth in different electronic products. The first product manufactured by this company was Apple I. “Apple used TV as the display medium, which was revolutionizing in its own self. Before that, no personal computers offered any sort of display. It worked much faster than other machines and provided an easy start up RAM and bootstrap code.” (Apple Inc., 2012) Building these machines was a problem because of the financial status of the company and because the location wasn’t appropriate. They managed to get a loan for US$250,000 through Mike Markkula who co-signed the bank loan. With money and new hope, the Apple II was created and it was specifically directed to households. ”Millions were sold well into the 1980s. A number of different models of the Apple II series were built, including the Apple IIe and Apple IIGS, which could still be found in many schools as late as 2005.” (Apple inc., 2012).…

The Apple icon is probably one of the most recognizable logos I can recall. From the rainbow colored version designed by Rob Janoff and implemented in 1976, to the slick silver monochromatic version used today, it clearly conveys the Apple brand without so much as a word spoken about it. With simplicity of design, lack of mentioning the company name in print, its underlying message of “fresh” and an edge of anarchy, Apple clearly achieved what few companies have in history. They made us all think of them when we see a silver bitten apple.…

Logo design is everywhere. It is the key element for any company’s corporate identity. It is important that as a company they ensure that the logo that is representing them is effectively designed so that people can easily identify and relate the logo to the company. If a logo is poorly designed, it can have a negative effect on the company it is speaking for. Bad logo design is one of the main causes of new business’ failing every year because of the ineffective marketing it presents. A logo is what gives people the first impression of a company and reflects what they’re all about. Whether the company sells paper, cosmetics or even clothing, the company’s logo should speak for the company. Bad logo design could lead to a client getting the wrong impression of the company and may even lead to them losing business. Logos are displayed on everything the company owns; websites, company adverts and documentation so it’s really important that it is clear to appear on all mediums. Most logos are very graphic and consist of symbols and icons to represent the company, but logos can also be typography or word mark like the Coca Cola logo. However, designing a killer logo to represent a company is one of the hardest areas of graphic design to perfect and major corporations usually invest a lot of money into marketing teams in order to create the ideal logo to embody the company.…
