Due to his careful observation, Susie’s father suspected Mr. Harvey was the killer, but there was not enough evidence so that the police couldn’t do anything about it. After a period of time, the police decided to drop the investigation. Susie’s mother, Abigail, couldn’t face the death of her daughter so she chose to leave the family. To forget the grief, she had an affair with Len, who was the police officer that investigated Susie’s case. One day, Lindsey, Susie’s sister, broke into Mr. Harvey’s house and found a drawing of the cornfield. Mr. Harvey returned home and realized his secret was exposed so he left the town. More evidence that proved Mr. Harvey was the killer was found and the police found out he was a serial killer. After years, Lindsey got engaged with her boyfriend, Samuel, while on the same day, Susie entered her classmate, Ruth’s body and had sex with Ray, which was her dream. After fulfilling her dream, she moved into a more beautiful heaven that belonged to her forever. In the end, the family has stepped away from the grief; Jack and Abigail resolved their marriage and Susie could face her eternity. The main conflict in the story is person vs. herself. After
