It seemed like the issues of the world were all being reflected in certain movies, films, and cartoons of the time that spread across each nation in the form of useless propaganda.
Classical animation in the form of technicolour cartoons was a popular choice for political and economical propaganda throughout the duration of this period. There was a strong belief that America had been the safer of the two nations throughout the Cold War because of their strong-sense of free will and independence. In the technicolour cartoon that inspired the American people to turn their backs on their Soviet Brothers, Make Mine Freedom, there is a lot of propaganda used to prompt their cause and derail the support of Communism. In the short cartoon, Make Mine Freedom, a man of distinct difference attempts to sell a bottle of Ism (Ism being short of Communism) for the price of the buyers freedom, and the freedom of their children. This is a rather bold statement considering at the time of its release, America was still rather bias about their beliefs, and lived for their right to the American Dream, therefore, the idea of selling their rights for a bottle of Ism was considered unjustifiable. The idea also brought about the belief that Communism meant the loss of right and freedom inside and outside of the courtroom, which went against the American dream and the constitution. After hearing the accented man speak about Ism, and the values it brought to the table, the men involved in the sale seemed convinced that the product was right for them, which all members of a social group think at some point when their system is failing them, and prepared themselves to sign their rights away, before a curious onlooker steps in and reads the contract over again.
