The Cold War was bound to happen some time in history. Many would say that it’s been bound to happen for years after the Bolshevik Revolution, and World War II was a break to an inevitable battle between the capitalist United States and communist Soviet Union. This point of view, the origins of the Cold War are simple: World War II left two major powers standing, both with visions of spreading their incompatible ideological systems (Origins of the Cold War). There was no stopping a battle between the United States and the Soviet Union because of their different views.
