In “Attack of the Man Eaters”, and “Meet the Lion Whisperer”, the writers say that there is a tragedy or sad fate for lions. The fate in the “Attack of the Man Eaters”, is the lions had injuries with its mouth that made it hard to hunt and eat. In “Meet the Lion Whisperer”, the fate is once the lions get to big for petting zoos, some get sedated for easy targets for hunting and medicine. From these examples, you can see the authors have compared the lions tragedies in both stories.
In the story “Attack of the Man Eaters”, the lions had a bad tragedy. The lions had an injury with their teeth and jaws, which caused them to not be able to hunt prey. This lead to feasting on the humans. There was also a bad drought and disease which was also a problem with food. The text states, “They learned that one of the lions suffered from injuries to its teeth and jaws, which made hunting large

They get too big to be in petting zoos. Afterwards, some get sent to zoos or circuses, but others get put into canned hunting or made into medicine. Canned hunting is when people put the lions in fenced in areas to make the easy targets. Then, they are hunted down and sold for a lot of money. The text states, “Some end up in zoos and circuses; others are sent to Asia, where their bones are used in folk medicine” (21). The author states, “…which lions are placed in fenced in areas and sometimes sedated to make them easier targets” (21). The author put this in the story to show what happens to them after they get older and how that relates to a sad fate.
In both stories, the lions each have a sad fate. In “Attack of the Man Eaters”, the lions had mouth injuries which made it difficult to hunt and eat. In the book the Fairie Queen, although the lion has no name in the story it is still part of Spensor’s allegory. A lion is the king of the jungle; it inherently signifies natural law. Which could be vehemently ferocious when it has to, but seemingly sympathetic to Christian reality. Rendering to Christian divinity, natural law crafts and creates part of God’s celestial law. Of human nature Christian is not an antagonist, it acts in harmony and unity with it. The lion instinctively assists and protects Una. Conversely, why is it no contest for the knight Sansloy? Without the law, act, rule, or decree of God, who maneuvers outside the circumference of heavenly law? The natural law symbolized and personified in this lion holds no power nor influence above Sansloy. Sansloy is capable of manipulating and destroying the lion because he isn’t subjected to the indefinite laws of nature. Nevertheless, the lion can trounce, conquer and overwhelm the robber, who infringes and disobeys the natural law by constantly stealing, committing larceny, and indulging…

Darwin’s “The Origin of Species” is what he is tapping into. The ravine (and the two sides of the ravine) forges the connection between man and beast. Where animals simply act out of bare necessities, humans have a capacity for emotion with regards to their decision. Separately, the darkness and the strange moonlight provide for an eventual mourning of both man (the child’s cries) and animals (the panthers and their cubs). Again, the connection is forged. Robert’s is using “Do Seek Their Meat from God” to point to the connection between man and animal and more specifically, the panther and the settler. By the end the lines are blurred as to who the reader should be sympathizing with due to the…

All around the chariot are the bodies of dead lions littering the ground, most overkilled with far more arrows and spears necessary to kill the beasts. The artist does a fantastic job of showing the rippling muscles and facial wrinkles in all of the lions. But there is one lioness that is different from the other lions. She is pictured holding herself up with her front two legs while dragging the back two on the ground. Her muscles are tense and her face is full of emotion. Even though the multiple wounds she has sustained will inevitably be the death of her she still holds herself up to let out one last roar. Her roar is a roar that suggests defiance against the cruel game that is being played against her and her fallen feline comrades. The artist was obviously not re-creating exactly what happened during this “hunt”, suggesting that he would have had to feel sorrow or sadness for these animals to depict them this way.…

I don’t know if the world really understands the living conditions of communist countries. The static number of deaths due to communism is approximately 94 million. Compared to the deaths of the holocaust which would stand at 11 million. 94 million is a to high number, when dealing with innocent lives. According to associated press, adapted by the Newsela one estimate reveals, fewer than 20,000 lions exist in the wild today, which is a drop of about 40 percent during past two decades (Newsela). These animals are living their normal lives then tricked into being murdered. From your viewpoint, one could understand how big game trophy hunting keeps population under control, helps small villages in need grow revenue by allowing big hunts on their lands and meticulous work to ensure the hunted animals are not the young and thriving but rather the old and weak. While supporting the point in which big game trophy hunting is negative, it’s affecting the vast extinctions of animals, the profit collected is not going where it’s needed and there is violence…
