The father was a round dynamic character, who expressed himself openly. At the beginning he was head strong and willing to do anything. Only the father and son wished for the money, not her. She didn’t not want them to use the monkeys paw but didn’t speak up because that were not going to listen to her. Then after he dies she comes forward and is more of a main character she contently wishes for her husband to wish there son back to life. She was not carful what she wished for with this wish, and the father knew that, she could be wishing her son to come back to life but still look the same way he did after being killed by the machine. Showing that she did change and that she has a lot of emotion, and is not just in the story for filler. She effected the central idea a lot because she made them use the monkeys paw two more times and without that second wish the probably would not have used it at all. While the mother was an important character the impacted the central idea, it would not be the same central idea without both of them.
The story’s central idea was affected by the father and the mother, because the both wished for something and did not think of the negative effect to the wish. The central idea is be careful what you wish for, because of all the bad that the monkeys paw caused the family.
