The book The Outsiders is written by S.E Hinton. It is told in the character Pony-Boys point of view. It is about two gangs called the Greasers and the Socs. They do not get along because they have different social groups.
Dally was accused of Slashing one of the Socs tires in the movie not in the book, in the movie he almost gets beat up for slashing one of a different gang members tires. He is disliked because he is a greaser and he has been to jail a ton of times, he also has had a very bad past.

She also mentions that he can write an essay for extra credit to pass with a C grade. Pony-Boy loves school and needed to raise his grade. In the movie they do not really talk about Ponyboy and his school and how much he loves school. He says it once or twice in the movie. They talk about Ponyboy and his school all the time in the book. In the book it says ¨Pony Boy id like to talk to you about your grades¨. ¨There is not much to talk about, judging from your scores Pony, ill give it to you straight. Your failing this class right now, but taking into concediration the circumstansis, if you come up with a good semmester theme, ill pass you with a C grade¨
