You have to love someone to hate them. In the story The Pin by Chris Crutcher the son goes through some bad times at the start of the story. In the story the kid was being abused verbally and physically. “Dad and I don’t always see eye to eye to the extent that at times we see eye to black eye”. Right now you may think the dad is a terrible person and is hating him right now, but right now he is also loving because his father wants to see him succeed so bad to the point that he abuses the kid it's not the right way but he loves him so much. Furthermore the dad wants to see him succeed, because the dad makes him do 10 push ups for each word he says that is irrelevant, “I can knock out 100 push-ups every ten minutes well i'm doing
