As I reflect on the movie of Unnatural Causes, it shed light on the concept of power verse privilege. There is a correlation between the health-wealth gradient and socioeconomics and obesity in America. As I watched the movie, I realized that an individual is placed in the top five percent, and who had a college degree that person is more likely to have the resources in order to make healthy food choices for themselves and family. Also, those individuals are not at a greater risks developing health conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol level, and depression. This is due to the fact that based upon their socioeconomic status they are able to buy fresh fruits and vegetables with lessen the likelihood of them becoming obese. On the other…

For my senior project I have choose “Child Abuse”, something most dearest to my heart. My reasoning of my decision is simply I was abused throughout my whole childhood life. The fear was intimidating just thinking about the next day and how ugly it can get. Going through abusive childhood over years which I've picked up from, I’ve become well knowledgeable about facts and reasoning behind these situations. Most of abuse pertainly starts with a uninhabitable living environment involving drugs or alcohol addiction. Power is the control over one’s self or another person or thing. In the poem “Adam and Eve” by Tony Hoagland a man and woman strived mentally for power over each other. Instead of having the happy and loving relationship that couples are “thought” to have, at the first sign of disagreement these two instantly worked against each other to have a personal gain of their own. In this poem the speaker, Adam, and the woman, who is assumed to be Eve, struggle for power over one another to make themselves superior to one another. They use their reactions and emotions against each other to steal and regain power.…

This would bring them to the point of releasing stress, and wanting to break the laws.…
Shawshank Redemption helps the reader understand the connection of how hierarchy could lead to abuse of power by people with authority. Institutions in which people have or want to have control over others can be open to abuse is shown in The Shawshank Redemption. When the warden says, ”I believe in two things, discipline and the bible. Put your trust in the lord and your ass belongs to me, welcome to shawshank”, he is justifying his abuse of power as the need to keep inmates in control. He also abuses his power by making Andy do his illegal personal work, to both benefit himself, and to keep Andy, a potential threat to his authority, under his control. The warden is completely ignorant to the fact that Andy most likely is innocent “well, let’s…
