How far would someone go to have complete power? With this type of authority, those who own it has the right and rule and need not to justify their choices. Many examples throughout history wished to possess unstoppable jurisdiction over all, such as Benito Mussolini or present-day Kim Jung Un. Though world-renown author, George Orwell, indicates this problem in his short story, “Animal Farm.” The book mentions mature topics like dictatorship and the Russian Revolution ironically through the use of walking and talking animals many would see in childrens' books. As he talks about the concept of Animalism, the idea that all animals are equal, the crowd of animals roar with agreement. After Old Major died of old age, the animals were motivated by his speech, and planned for a rebellion against Farmer Jones in which they have won. Then, two pigs named Snowball and Napoleon took charge since they stated that their kind were the most intelligent. Afterwards, the swines renamed to the farm to “Animal Farm” and created laws for all the animals to follow, which, in general, was to avoid acting or being human. However, the pigs kept on breaking their own laws, but decided to alter it to accommodate themselves. After some time passed by, they eventually started to fight for authority, as they were not satisfied with the tremendous power they already own. Unfortunately, Snowball was chased away by Napoleon’s army of dogs, and was never seen again. Snowball's dictatorial leadership and paranoia lead to animals overworking, and mass executions, as he believed that anyone who disobeyed his decisions were either spies or rebels. Animal Farm became more and more totalitarian over the time, and people's mindsets and morals were distorted due to the propaganda Squealer has been convincing them about. The pigs broke and changed the laws more often and became vicious tyrants as they intimidated the working class animals.
