President Robert Mugabe,
Have you noticed the economy of Zimbabwe, and how it has been completely tarnished? I cannot be the only one who has. Not only are the citizens of Zimbabwe suffering, but your leadership is, too. A good leader would be working hard to harmonize the issues within the country of Zimbabwe. Might I recommend taking advice from Machiavelli’s The Prince? This book explains how a leader should go about things in his/her career, like decisions, techniques, and ways he/she can follow through with them. With the issues in Zimbabwe’s economy, some of the advice within The Prince could be useful towards your actions to fix the problems. Your leadership styles could be improved by the guidance of Machiavelli’s The Prince in many different ways, which will improve your economy. In the past, poor choices were made when deciding a reaction to the war of Congo. You declared to send roughly 13,000 unskilled troops to the Congo to fight for peace within Africa. By sending these troops out to defend the continent of Africa, Zimbabwe was spending around $1,000,000 just to fund your choices ("Mugabe Is Dragging down Zim 's Economy."). When the war was over, four years later, your country didn’t only lose the war, but they also lost their respect and hope for you ("Robert Mugabe- Facts & Summary."). This war could have been won by Zimbabwe if your troops had the proper training, and if your worries were directed towards every aspect of the war instead of just winning. In The Prince, Machiavelli says “a prince, therefore, should have no care or thought but for war, and for the regulations and training it requires, and should apply himself exclusively to this as his particular province” (Machiavelli). This is saying that if you would have made better choices for war, Zimbabwe could have won. By not only caring about winning, but paying attention to your people back at home, the economy could have flourished instead of diminished.
