The Proclamation Of 1763: The Establish The Sugar Act

It all started after the French and Indian War had ended. We helped fight for our land of course, and then the British began to violate our rights by taxing us relentlessly! They are in debt because of the war, so we expected a rise in taxes; however, we did not expect this! The Treaty of Paris has kicked out almost all the French from North America, so Britain took their land. Even though the British took France’s land, we cannot settle West of the Appalachian Mountains! It was called the Proclamation of 1763. The act was put in place to prevent further war with the Natives that reside West of the mountain range. I thought that was a bit reasonable; but, Britain is raising our taxes for trying to go West and causing conflict will the Native Americans! Not everyone was even trying to explore and settle West of the Appalachian. Great Britain is assuming too much power and control over us colonies.

I did not believe it would worsen—but it has. The British has established the Sugar Act. This act has put a tax on sugar, molasses, and even more goods alike! There is a very harsh consequence for smugglers—I cannot even think about it. Because of this duty on these imported
Twelve colonies sent delegates to discuss the Intolerable Acts and what they can do to be ready if the King throws another heinous obstacle in our way. They have declared that the colonies desire to tax themselves and that a militia shall be ready to fight the British if necessary. The delegates have also declared that the Intolerable Acts shall be repealed. Mark my words, this meeting was full of geniuses that could run a country perfectly! These noble men have already done so much for the boycotts which they are demanding continue and many of them have publicly spoken out against Parliament. These men are who everyone should aspire to be. The meeting shall get together again if any of the demands are not
