The Promise Summary
The Promise “is the first chapter in C. Wright Mills’ 1959 book “The Sociology Imagination”. Mills applies the techniques of knowledge development and knowledge through interacting each other. Mills described how most people understand the world in the view of in an uncritically and common sense way. Mills described that most people doesn’t have the quality of life and to understand the changes of many personal milieux: identifying the difference between personal troubles of individuals and society and understanding the problems that affect society. We need to think critically about things and thinking about social change.
I applied the following tools of analysis; -
Empowerment which increases the ability of individuals and group to influence

    My news editorial is The False Promises in President Trump's Tax Plan by the New York Times written in Aug 30 2017. This article is about (as expected) the false promises in Trumps tax plan.     In The Promise, written by C. Wright Mills, Mills discussed the sociological imagination. The sociological imagination is the ability to step back and have a different outlook on your everyday routines and to think of these routines in a new way. Mills also discusses individualism, which is the ability to be self-reliant.
