The economic impact of waterfowl hunting in Arkansas can best be seen in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's 2006 Economic Impact of Waterfowl Hunting report. This report states that in 2006 there was 1.3 million waterfowl hunters nationwide, 100,000 of these waterfowl hunters were residents of Arkansas who spent 1.8 million days pursuing the waterfowl of their choice. During these days, waterfowl hunters spend money on hunting trips, hunting equipment, salaries and wages and state, local and federal taxes. Nationwide, waterfowl hunters spent $900 million during 2006 creating a positive economic impact for the nation's economy. When did all of this begin and why in Eastern Arkansas?…

Animals and humans can both receive harm when people hunt; especially when it involves many deaths and drastic changes in someone's life. Throughout the articles I read, I found that big game trophy hunting is quite dangerous; adding to my original thought about being against it.…

When it comes to deer hunting a huge factor in success or failure is the land being hunted on. You could drive around and knock on doors of farmhouses to ask permission to hunt the land, but other possibilities would be to enter into a deer hunting lease through an outfitter or deer hunt club. Just imagine that in the states of Iowa, Kansas and Missouri alone, more than 200,000 acres of private land are available for deer hunting so gaining access to this land would increase the possibility of getting a trophy deer. Today, many landowners are creating an opportunity for deer hunters to use their land without the need to knock on doors to get permission.…

According to the article “Gun safety, Texas-style” an editorial from the Los Angeles times, the article presents that in order to avoid campus tragedy or school shooting happens, the Texas government may establish a law that allow students to carry gun on campuses. As the campus shooting tragedy happened in the past, the law’s supporters think most of times the schools lack of ability to protect students. They believe the best defense way is the students have ability to fight back when students face to gunmen. The purpose of allowing students carry guns on campus is to prevent future recurrence of the campus tragedy. In my personal view, campus shooting tragedy is unfortunate for civil education and we oppose any violence on campus. Therefore, I definitely do not agree students should carry guns to school.…

Public debates about trophy hunting often centers on the question of the morality of recreational hunting or the extent to which the money paid by sportsmen seeking a trophy animal provides a conservation benefit to the overall population of game animals and the rural economies where the game is hunted. It brings together old and young generations with a common goal. Being in the woods with your dad or your grandfather or your friends, sitting in silence until one of you sees your quarry is an experience like no other. It is difficult for a non-hunter to grasp this experience. It comes from a lifetime of exposure to hunting and its many trails and tribulations. With these adversities comes reward, this reward consists not only of materialistic value but it comes with wholehearted emotional satisfaction. Having your dad share a beer with you after a long day of hunting, having your grandfather smear the blood of your first kill on your face, and going out hunting with your friends to put to use the knowledge your dad and grandfather taught you as a young boy is immaculate. Within all hunters burns a flame of passion for the outdoors, which is fueled by the excitement of the hunt and no bureaucrat, no lobbyist, and no organization can ever extinguish this flame, it will burn forever within the hearts and souls of those who respect and are awed by the animals they hunt. This is where I take my…
