The Pros And Cons Of Nationalism In The United States
Nationalism is a term used to define the sense of belonging among people living in a nation. In other terms, that's what makes a nation different creating the political process. Unionizing a nation and welcoming the people as being part of it in exchange for political loyalty such as nationalism. It can be used for liberation, popular sovereignty, economic development, and self-worth. Yet it can also be used to destruct the self-worth of the nation and the people itself creating ethnic and national power among the wealthy. Nationalism is at its point of support of the country. If the citizens don’t feel any connection with their country, they might move to find one that they feel closer too. Once found, they may support the country over others, …show more content…
When they feel especially connected to their compatriots, citizens who gain from change are more willing to support strong safety nets, employment programs, and educational systems that help ease the burden on those who otherwise would fall far behind. And the generosity of the winners in turn allows the nation as a whole to better accept the consequences of free trade, open capital markets, and more liberal immigration. The greater good of nationalism can be to have a great sense of pride about your country and do what you could to invite others and protect it at all cost. Then the other half can have too much pride when its comes to that when they our overprotective with it the create clans to disturb those who do cooperate with them. This is when nationalism gets out of hand and people start to fight about issues that they claim involves nationalism.

Nationalism is sometimes used to get a population to support wars or other dangerous actions. It can also cause citizens to disconnect from a rational thought. Many wars and atrocities were committed by people acting on behalf of a nationalist leader. Such as Adolf Hitler, Kim Jong II, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, etc. Even during the most devastating atrocity to happen to the US.
