Before businesses decide to put warning labels on suary drinks, they need to think of their options. Some say that is a killer and others say what gives, but I don’t think that people understand what sugary drinks can do to you. There are two sides of opinion that need to be addressed, YES warning labels should be placed on sugary drinks and NO they shouldn’t. I strongly believe that warning labels should be placed on sugary drinks for specific reasons.…
Some people blame the food or drink that one consumes for their health issues. But that is in fact false, If a person chooses to consume sugary or fattening food knowing that it may not be the best choice. It's not the food or drinks that are hurting these people, it's the people's choices thats hurting them. In the "Yes!" Section, the author means to say that making people aware of what they're putting into their bodies will make the least likely to do it, when he wrote "Putting warning labels on sugary drinks would save lives." According to the text "... you deserve to know when you're about to put something in your body that can make you sick or worse." This shows the people should know what they're drinking is bad for them because they are simply unaware. The text gives an example of how warning labels have worked in the past, "Anti-smoking measures, including warning labels, are estimated to have saved about 8 million American lives since 1964." This connects too similar problems and proves that warning labels can effectively discourage…

“It may seem harmless to allow your child to drink soda every day. Thinking that soda won’t cause the child any immediate harm is unfortunately common.” (Khara) Unfortunately for the United States, it’s one of the first countries to start drinking soft drinks. Soda can also be termed as soft drink, coke or fizzy drink and is consumed by all ages worldwide. (Khara) Soft drinks can cause tooth decay, dehydration, obesity and more, and also contain tons of preservatives and artificial sweeteners. It isn’t just parents giving their children soda, it’s also the school districts providing more unhealthy choices and minimal nutritional items, such as milk or water, and fruits and vegetables.…

The average American citizen doesn't know of these statistics, which is why we shouldn't be quick to deny the government's restriction of our sugar. Sugar is also said to have long term damages to the liver. Diabetes can be directly linked to the consumption in sugar from HFCS or “High Fructose Corn Syrup” coming from sugary drinks like soda. In and article called the “5 reason HFCS will kill you” the author Dr. Mark Hyman states that “HFCS contrary to what big name companies are telling us, are not a natural sugars. Since HFCS are so cheap and sweet it is the reason that businesses allow their average soda size to go from 8 ounces to 20 ounces.”…
Most college students would have the same thought process as you. They would immediately say "no way! I love my soda", this is unfortunately how the majority of America is like. If we are to change, we have to really put forth the effort for more than a day. A lot of people actually know of the risks of drinking soda but they don't do anything about it, most people treat it as if it's nothing until they start getting signals. People need to start seeing that other campuses and businesses are removing soda from their buildings as a red flag as you said. If it has been a concern for so long and such a big concern that businesses are starting to remove it, it means it's probably really bad for you. I feel like our best solution is to slowly back…
It seems like nowadays people are becoming more conscious about their health and eating habits. People are starting to notice what they eat and have started changing their eating habits. They start to choose organic foods, eat foods with less sugar or eat foods with artificial sweeteners, and choose foods that don’t have certain chemicals or hormones. Some people eat and drink diet foods such as diet soda here and there thinking that it will better their health and a contribution to their diet or weight loss. But what people tend to not notice is what kind of chemicals or ingredients that we don’t recognize are harmful. You might rarely see a label on a diet soda warning you about Phenylalanine, and not know what it is so you regard it. Usually when we don’t know what is in our food, we think twice about eating it, but if it seems harmless and see no warning label then we eat it anyway. Any products that are made for human consumption that contain Aspartame, which contains Phenylalanine, should carry a warning label of the ingredient. Most do…
