Meat production requires more water, grains and maintenance cost, where as plants like legumes improves the soil quality by adding nitrogen naturally to soil. Vegetables and fruits have vitamins, minerals and fatty acids that helps our body fight against diseases and increases our life span. For example, fresh fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C which helps our body maintain healthy tissues, helps bodies maintain healthy immune system, aids in absorption of iron, fights against cardiovascular disease and prenatal problems, eye disease and other skin issues.
