The purpose of life
The purpose of life is something we have all questioned at least once in our lives. No one can fully understand what their purpose is. No one has the same purpose and no one has just one purpose. In life, our purpose changes as we grow and progress. Right now my purpose in life is to prepare myself to be ready to fulfill my ultimate purpose in life. Being seventeen and still in high school, there’s a lot I can do and learn so I can be ready for my future purpose. I try to keep myself on the right path, even though sometimes I do falter. Now, more than ever, I’ve become more aware of the fact that the choices I make now can really affect me later in life. I think we all have a predestined purpose in life, and the way we decide to live will determine how we fulfill it or not. I want to be able to fulfill whatever my life’s purpose is. I have no idea what my life is going to be like in the future, but I’m excited to find out. And until I do, I will strive to live in a way that I am worthy to fulfill whatever it is I’m destined to do.
The importance in life will, granted, vary from person to person. Personally, I think that there is more than one importance of life. We may not agree on what the importance is, but we do agree on some things that are not important. In the "The Devil and Tom Walker" by Washington Irving, Tom Walker is a poor man, who stumbles upon the opportunity to make a deal with the devil and become rich. Now, Tom thinks this is the cure to all his problems. But as he goes on and carries out his deal with the devil, he becomes fearful of where he is going to end up. Tom didn’t think of what this deal might do to him in the end; all he thought about was the present. In some cases, we can all relate to Tom, in the sense that we make decisions based on the present and we don’t really care or acknowledge that there could be future consequences. We

need to balance living in the present while also being aware of our futures. I think

However, as described by Rick Warren, true purpose comes from a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It comes from living out this purpose through serving and sharing one’s life and faith with others. Understanding one’s purpose and meaning in life helps one to live this purpose out in his or her life, which in turn gives one a reason to live. In addition, when people live their lives for reasons outside of their own selves, it changes the way individuals approach their personal and professional lives. It allows humans to grow and succeed, and as pointed out by Aristotle, it can bring one to a sense of eudaimonia.…
