The two factors in the general environment which have an impact upon Starbucks’ operation are the technological and sociocultural factors. Technological factors refer to the use of technology in organisations. “ The organisations that adapt to major technologically advances gain a competitive edge over those that do not.The whole area of technology is radically changing the fundamental ways that organisations are structured and the way that managers manage.” (Robbins & Coulter, 2005) Sociocultural factors refer to the adaptation of pratices that managers have to make because of the changing expectations of the society in which they operate. "As societal values ,customs, and taste change, managers must also change. (Robbins & Coulter, 2005)
