1-The Mesopotamian’s believed in the afterlife and had a myth that they believed in known as “The Epic of Gilgamesh.”
2-The message of Siduri’s advice to Gilgamesh is that all men have to die and only the god’s can have immortality. She also says he needs to enjoy his life while he’s alive and not worry about dying.
3-Utnapishtim’s initial response and message compliments what Siduri said because both deal with how he should appreciate the life he has because immortality is something worse than death.
4-The actions of the god’s and goddesses allow us to infer that the Mesopotamians viewed their deities as themselves being under them. They worshiped them and were forced to respect them.
8-The Mesopotamian view of life was to make the best of their life and appreciate it while they were alive and not worry about death.
1-YHWH destroys all humanity except Noah because Noah was a righteous man and blameless while the rest of humanity was wicked. YHWH’s reasoning compares with the Mesopotamian god’s reason for wanting to destroy humans because the humans were doing wrong and they wanted to start over.
2-They compared because they were both treated well and lived longer than average humans.
3-The Mesopotamian gods demand that they worship them and not annoy them. Noah’s god demands were to not eat raw meat, fill the earth back up with people, and remember the relationship they had with him.
4-The picture of a leader with a group of followers comes to mind. Their god is similar to the Mesopotamian’s gods because they’re worshiped and have power over the people. They differ because the god of the Israelites wants what is best for the people while the Mesopotamian’s gods wanted what was best for them.
5-Ham has realized they were naked and his son suffers as consequence because he was a product of his father and treated more like property than an actual child. It shows how Israelites didn’t have the values we have today and
