The Raven Reflection
Raven,

I like how you had an interest with the treatment process. I went a different route in my post and emphasized the important of assessment. However, you have inspired me to read the chapter again and learn more about the treatment process. Creating goals and strategies, which are part of the treatment process, seem very helpful for the client.

As indicated above, Mathew has regressed in a few areas of treatment that he will need to work on the next reporting period. He cited needing more work in the treatment book because he did not understand many of the things that are being discussed in the treatment group. This provider discussed this with Mathew, his mother, and stepfather on 10/20/15.…

Alfred Hitchcock’s motion picture Psycho, released in 1960, contains peculiar placement of predatory birds and other fowls with corresponding lines about birds from Norman Bates, the primary antagonist. The most obvious reference to birds takes place in the parlor of the Bates Motel where Marion shares her last meal with Norman. As Norman invites Marion into the parlor, he sets the food tray on the coffee table and turns on the lamp. Immediately, Marion’s eyes point the camera to two birds mounted on the walls: an owl with full spread wings in the corner and a black raven hovering over the couch. Marion enters the room and takes her place on the couch under the raven while Norman sits across the intimidating glare of the owl and under another…

“The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls is an extremely intriguing novel that really kept my attention throughout the whole story. The Walls family is definitely one that is unlike any I’ve ever come across, and the lessons that the children learned were ones that helped shaped their lives and made them who they are today. Jeanette obviously learned so much from her experience that she wrote a whole book about it, managing to hold the reader’s attention through all 281 pages. Jeanette Walls goes through many descriptions of situations that she faced that people normally should not face. For most of her childhood, she was traveling from place to place because her parents always thought that they would hit it big and never finding a steady job.…

Last week in class we read the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The book showed what's it’s like to overcome adversity at anytime even when times are bad Jeannette Walls overcame her father's alcoholism and her mother's psychoness. The family was also going through a financial crisis so with the weight of everything on her she had to get over so much for her to be able to succeed in her later life. Jeanette was a very strong and determined person and she didn’t allow herself to use the homelessness or her father’s alcohol problems but more as opportunities. She felt as if the hardships were making her who she was and it allowed her to become such a strong and humble person. I have had much adversity but this was the hardest for me. A couple…

A grieving man sits and hears a knocking on his door, what could it be? Out of all the possibilities it's a raven. I believe that the raven in Edgar Allan Poe’s poem is imaginary for many reasons. However, the main reasons are; the behavior of the raven, the talking, and the man’s sorrow of his wife Lenore which symbolizes the raven. First, I will talk about why the bird’s behavior is a sign that the bird is imaginary.…

One literary device in the poem is symbolism. Symbolism is the practice of using a word to represent an idea. There are several symbols in the poem “The Raven”, but the main symbol is the raven itself. The Raven symbolizes the man’s memories of his wife, Lenore. The bird stands as a memory of his loneliness and misery. When the bird said “nevermore” it was more effective than the human saying it. The raven represents evil and death.…
