Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to find out the relationship between homicide rates and gun ownership. This paper uses data about the United Stated from 20 years ago because homicide rates at that time were the highest. The findings in this paper show homicide rates have a direct relationship with gun ownership. Findings of this paper prove homicide rates are different between countries which have gun control and countries which have high rates of gun ownership. Guns are much more notable when they are involved in other kinds of crimes. So, people don’t want to be involved in cases in which guns are used. This can explain the big reduction in gun ownership after 1993.

Guns are a kind of weapon which is created for war. Nowadays, people also use guns to protect themselves. However, many people use guns to commit crimes because guns can hurt people easily. This makes guns a big issue in some countries in which citizens can own guns legally. People have heard a lot of news about shooting accidents and some of these cases are really astonishing. Many people attribute the fault to guns because people think that a lot of people will not be killed if the criminals do not have guns. So, many people start opposing the policy of using guns. In contrast, there are many countries which citizens can’t own guns legally and these countries also have a lot of crimes every year. America has one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Guns
