(Three Messages from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner)
The Mariner, in the poem, “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by William Coleridge, he talks about the dream of his friend that goes from what his friend specifically said and went from there. Today’s generation tends to elaborate or exaggerate things that people say. From their friends to some random person in the world, people today tend to go on and on and sometimes that means that they fray from the truth. Some of the generations doesn’t stray from the truth and that’s where the three messages from “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” comes from, going to church should be more important to people than going out to parties, everything that God made, no matter how big or small God loves wholeheartedly, and people need to become a little wiser and with wisdom comes sadness. Going to church has become something of the past. If you’re not getting something out of it, then why go, right? This poem talks about how people that go to parties together should also be willing to go to church together too. With all the good and the bad things that are going on in the world today, sometimes it’s hard to believe that things that God can create things that are both good and bad and love them equally. In the poem the Albatross gets killed and then later is brought back to life. If that isn’t the power of God, then I don’t know what is. Killing the Albatross was something that was a huge deal that happened in this story and to the people in this story.
