The Road Not Taken

Each person’s journey, whether emotional or spiritual, will help them to determine what their purpose is in life. As depicted in Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”, the narrator underwent an emotional journey after coming to a fork in the road as he was walking through the woods. He wants to travel down both roads, but knows that is not possible and begins to contemplate which road he should take. As he looks down both roads, he tries to differentiate the two by saying one is greener than the other, but comes to the realization that both have been equally traveled down. He then thinks he will one day be able to come back and travel down the other road, but knows he cannot do that either as that will lead to more forks and ultimately more
“If” tells the story of a father explaining to his son all the good qualities and characteristics that will make him a good man. He starts off by saying to be confident in yourself and your decisions, but do not think you are above anyone else. He tells his son it is okay to dream but do not let your dreams control your life and do not think without having a plan to put those thoughts into action. He also mentions to not be afraid to take risks and lose everything, and if you do, start over and do not tell others about your loss. He tells his son when you have been pushed to your limits physically, use your mental strength to continue to fight. He says be sure to you are able to talk with large crowds without having them influence your morals in any way. He adds you should be able to enjoy your riches without looking down on those who are less fortunate than you and to not let others become too dependent on you. He concludes by telling his son if he lives life to the fullest, the world will be his and he will be a
The narrator starts off by telling us instead of filling silence by talking, to listen to our surroundings and our conscience. He says to treat others the way you want them to treat you and respect others opinions, as they too have their own journeys and obstacles. He mentions to stay away from loud and noisy people because they distract you from your truth and to enjoy not only the destination, but the journey as well. He continues to add that while the world is full of tricks, not everyone you meet has bad intentions. He believes love is one of the greatest parts of life, but you should never force yourself to love someone or force someone else to love you. Love will eventually find you. He tells you that it is okay to grow up and have your views change from when you were a child. He ends by stating you are not a mistake and you were meant to be here. As long as you think good thoughts, do good things, and are at peace with yourself, everything will work itself out in the
