In Higher education people work closely with students to make sure that they succeed at their own measure of what success looks like for the student. When it comes to working with students or recruiting students for the university every student will come from a different background and upbringing. In the different departments that operate under higher education and student affairs there is a hierarchy set in place with the position and must again reflect of different parts of the model around what is considered their common purpose and what type of congruence is being brought to the students within their position. The social change model is meant to promote values that can be gained around social justice, advocacy, empowerment and citizenship. These values connect with those in higher education when it comes to empowering students and to create a sense of citizenship from the town that must students will spend a portion of their college career. The Social change model overall goal is for students to create positive change but, there are some inconsistency when we look at the type of diverse identities that show up on campus and the lack of talk when it comes to the over power plays that students of color and with other marginalized identities when it comes to creating positive
