This led to me realizing how much time and energy goes into the care of a large number of animals and the running of a nonprofit shelter. From there I went on to accept a job on my college campus working as an animal care assistant. I saw to the care of the various animals in the campuses animal room. My job was to make sure that they were fed when necessary, that their cages were kept clean, and that the animal rooms were kept tidy. This job helped to give me experience working with a more diverse number of animals than I had previously been acquainted with during my time at the animal shelter. After quite a bit of searching, I was also able to acquire a position as a kennel assistant at Barton Heights Animal Hospital. It was here that I was able to observe and take part in the daily routine of working in a functional veterinary hospital. My time working there showed me the less glamorous, more challenging, grimy, and routine side of caring for the sick, abandoned, and injured animals. This position also allowed me to witness both the accomplishment of being able to cure and send home patients to successfully recover and the sad fact that some animals just do not make…

The most influential experience in my life has been, participating in giving back to the homeless during the Christmas holiday. While helping the less fortunate I learned that I would be selfish if I did not stay humble, I have learned that helping others is a part of what I want to do for as long as I can. In my experience of all the people that I've seen, I have realized…
