The Simple Life Satirical Show
The Simple Life is a reality television series broadcast from December 2, 2003 to August 5, 2007. The comedic show depicts two wealthy young socialites (Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie) as they struggle to do manual, low-paying jobs such as cleaning rooms, doing farm work, serving meals in fast-food restaurants and working as camp counselors.
In the first season, Paris and Nicole agreed to leave behind their cell phones, credit cards and celebrity status to move in with the Leding family in Altus, Arkansas for a month.
What was supposed to be an experiment in learning how to adapt to doing chores and getting their hands dirty turned out to be a failure. In the process they would ruin a dairy farmer's milk supply, wreak havoc at a local Sonic

Most parents understand the importance that behaviour plays in their children’s life. Television, games, music and even food have all been used as reasons for children growing up to commit aggression in their adult life. Throughout the years the media have reported extreme cases of children showing aggressive behaviour and given various reasons for these behaviours. In 1961, a scientist named Albert Bandura performed an experiment called the Bobo Doll Experiment to try and understand these behaviours better. His aim was to show all behaviour was learned through imitation and copying rather than inherited through genes. Below is a description of how the experiment was carried out, with detail of the results obtained and how these results can be useful in the parenting of your…

For instance, the nursery was installed to prevent or repel harmful thoughts; however, Peter and Wendy use the nursery in a destructive way that led to the death of their parents. Another example is the abundance of technological assistance with everyday tasks. The children live in a world where everything is done for them. They never learned to tie their own shoes or even brush their own teeth. These skills have become unnecessary because they have machines to do these things for them. The biggest issue is how the parents, George and Lydia, have let machinery become the caregivers to their children. They do not help their children or teach them. They have let machines take over their jobs. As a result, Peter and Wendy think of the machines as their parents and their real parents as an insignificant waste of space. "You've let this room and this house replace you and your wife in your children's affections," says psychologist David McClean. "This room is their mother and father, far more important than their real parents" (Bradbury, 8). These are the reasons that "The Veldt" is much more dangerous.…

Satire is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people 's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. “Family Guy” portrays carnivalesque imagery such as those seen in “South Park” and “The Simpsons.” The author Peacocke is a fan of “Family Guy” but she says, “It’s important not to lose sight of what’s truly unfunny in real life-even as we appreciate what is hilarious in fiction (308).” Peacocke liked “Family Guy” at first when she realized that the jokes were taking things too far she started to dislike it then liked it again. She felt some people was going overboard and not looking at it to be funny. The show is based…

In an attempt to have a meal some of them had to use there own pets as a way of being able to eat. “He thinks we are not going to eat it,” his sister told her, “but we are” (Bird). Dave Chappelle Satire

Dave Chappelle's comedy has made numerous aspects of American race relations and racial stereotypes subject to ridicule in a manner that has both united and divided. On one hand, his name became synonymous with comedy for the younger generations; on the other, his values caused him to question his own comedy, leading him to effectively terminate his career. “In the Wake of 'The Nigger Pixie': Dave Chappelle and the Politics of Crossover Comedy” by Bambi Haggins demonstrates that Chappelle's comedic style is the result of numerous elements of comedy in the African American community coming together and that it came about as a result of his experiences. It gives and expands upon the reasons that Chappelle left Chappelle's Show and presents them in an optimal setting. Chappelle's roots are established as guiding him through his comedic career, his desire to share his comedy with the masses without accommodating the tastes of the networks or what they would think would be “palatable” to their audiences. Haggins' analysis of Chappelle's comedic style for the duration of Chappelle's Show explains how Chappelle was able to blend older styles of African American comedy into his unique comedic style by using his sketches to support her claims. Haggins knows how to blend this mixture artfully into an essay piquing the interest of others on the topic of Chappelle's career and comedic style.…

Bandura’s Bobo doll experiment showed just this. The children were shown a video of a woman beating up a bobo doll. She hit, kicked, and punched the doll all while yelling aggressively at it. After seeing the video, children were released to go play in a room that had the bobo doll from the video. The children were observed doing all of the things to the doll that the woman was doing in the video. In comparison to today’s world, the bobo doll video is similar to video games or violent TV shows. In my personal experience, I have observed three year olds in my class act out the moves of the Ninja Turtles. I have also seen well-behaved children regress due to the exposure of children who misbehave. A child who transitioned into my class after just turning three had a habit of throwing their shoes once sat in time-out. Weeks later, I witnessed this same behavior with another child who had been in my class for almost a year who was turning four in the upcoming month. Children will mimic and learn from the behaviors they are exposed to, whether they are positive or negative.…
