The Taiga Biome is the largest biome, it Extends across Europe, Asia, and North America. The Taiga is known for having both Coniferous and boreal forest. Fires happen very often in the Taiga. There isn't much diversity in the plants. They have lots of Conifer trees which is why it’s known to have the Coniferous forest. These trees are said to be evergreens which means they are green all year long, nor drop their leaves. A quick fun Fact: Most scientist believe that the Taiga biome was once completely covered with ice and glaciers many many years ago.
#3. Climate & Location:
The Taiga biome most of the time has short, wet summers, and long cold winters. During the winter it gets lots and lots of snow, and in the …show more content…
The have one very common tree found in the Taiga and that would be the conifer tree. There are four different kind of conifer trees. The first three conifer trees are evergreens, which include; spruce, pine, and fir. Then there is the fourth conifer tree which is a larch, a deciduous tree. Evergreens use lots of physical adaptations. Some of these adaptations include color, shape, and leaf type. With having the name evergreen it describes a very important adaptation. Another great adaptation would be the fact that they never drop their leaves the temperature is always cool so they never have to regrow …show more content…
Other Abiotic Factors:
Some of the abiotic factors of the Taiga would include; soil, air, sunlight, water, and temperature of course. With the temperature there are extreme variety. There is also lots of heavy snow fall with which makes the soil water frozen. The soil water is frozen for about 5 to 7 months in the winter. The precipitation is also weirdly formed. It usually comes down in liquid form or in in solid form as snow.
#7. Problems & Threats:
There are many threats to the Taiga biome. Most of the problem they have are environmental threats. Some examples would be mining, pollution, and deforestation. Oil spills are also another threat. These threats are towards most animals living there. There are often oil spills when tankers crash into glaciers. There are also emissions in the air. When the emissions in the air mix with the clouds it creates acid rain and messes with the area. There is also hunting , it’s very common for poachers who kill animals that are on the endangered list already.
