BIOGRAPHY
Audrey Niffenegger is a professor in the Master of Fine Arts program, as well as the Department of Creative Writing, at the Columbia College Chicago Centre for Book and Paper Arts. In between courses, Niffenegger is an editor for hand painted graphic novels. The Time Traveler’s Wife is Niffenegger’s first novel which has become an award-winning, blockbuster piece of literature. Originally an artist at heart, Niffenegger only produced graphic novels which she sold to art galleries at the beginning of her career. The title, “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” was inspired by Niffenegger’s lack of spouse.
The Time Traveler’s Wife was originally a graphic novel; however, Niffenegger realized it’s hard to present time-travel in still images.
Niffenegger says that the title is- the immediate definition two people and their relationship to one another.
Niffenegger claims to have a busy life, which is why she was intrigued of the concept of having ‘time’ as a restraint
As a professor, Niffenegger engaged in a conversation with a fellow philosophy professor, who explained to her the truth about time as a social construct; moreover, another piece of significance to time-travel.
As an artist, Niffenegger had the idea of star-crossed lovers come across while sketching in London, England.
Using time-travel as a metaphor, Niffenegger claimed that the metaphor explained how two people knew each other for their whole life; meanwhile, the novel is a metaphor for all her failed love affairs

The novel has won other awards; howbeit, the BBA (British Book Award) gave Audrey Niffenegger her rise to fame. After winning the BBA, the novel became a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a film. The BBA is an award from the National Book Awards sponsored by Specsavers, is a group of retail-chain buyers, independent booksellers, wholesalers and trade press columnists. These book awards showcase the annual best of British literature and publishing, whilst praising novels with international popularity, positive acclamation, and blockbuster success. There are eleven categories of various awards, the BBA represents one of the awards that can be won. The awards are produced by Cactus TV Ltd., with additional assistance by cross-industrial groups. The shortlists are chosen by fifty carefully selected individuals from the Academy. All fifty members fully understand to take into consideration what not only has been published within the year, but have seen news articles and disclosures of works to be published.     Fort Sumter has to be one of the most historic national monuments in South Carolina. This fort has gone through a lot of history over the past years. I will inform you with some of the history behind this fort. The fort was appointed after the man called Thomas Sumter. He was conceived in 1734 and he past away in 1832. One of the main reasons why this fort is so famous is because its known as the first battlefield where gunshots started and it began the civil war. This fort had received an enormous amount of damage during the civil war because there were bombardments all over Fort Sumter.
